Yale Global Academy Meeting 2011

Eve Gray from UCT’s Centre for Educational Technology, and a member of the Intellectual Property Law & Policy Research Unit, organised an international workshop on access & digital technologies for the Yale Global Academy. UCT’s IP Unit and the Yale Law School’s Information Society Project collaborated to host this year’s meeting in Cape Town from January 18-19, 2011. The two-day meeting showcased local and international guest speakers on the theme of Access to Knowledge from various national perspectives. The specialist topics addressed at the workshop included ‘Copyright exceptions and limitations in Education’, ‘Educational Innovation in Africa and beyond’, privacy and freedom of expression among others.
